About Exchanges Pathway

If someone asks you what an exchange is, you might think of the New York Stock Exchange or the London Stock Exchange. But do you fully understand how an exchange works, other than being a place where someone can buy securities? This pathway will explain exchanges, starting with some of the types, before moving onto how they work, including clearing and settlement. We will then introduce some of the third parties that may be required when an investor interacts with an exchange such as custodians or central securities depositories.
